Bastien est un jeune garçon renfermé, qui subit régulièrement les brimades de ses camarades et qui doit faire face depuis peu au décès prématuré de sa mère. Passionné par la lecture, il s’évade de ce triste quotidien grâce aux romans d’aventures. Un jour qu’il tente d’échapper à ses harceleurs, Bastien trouve refuge dans une étrange librairie, où il découvre un mystérieux livre intitulé L’Histoire sans fin. Démarrant la lecture, il plonge dans le monde merveilleux de Fantasia et embarque pour un voyage qui pourrait bien changer sa vie. Le souffle aventureux, les créatures fantastiques, et l’inoubliable tube de Limahl ; presque quarante ans plus tard, le plaisir est encore intact.
