Dans une banlieue tranquille, les Barrett voit leur quotidien basculer quand d’étranges évènements viennent perturber les nuits de la maisonnée. Un spécialiste leur apprend qu’ils sont victimes d’attaques extraterrestres... Ce thriller surnaturel est le troisième long métrage du réalisateur Scott Stewart, également expert en effets spéciaux. Dark Skies bénéficie donc de tout le savoir-faire de ce dernier, et réussit à créer une atmosphère anxiogène à l’efficacité redoutable.
