NIFFF Extended / Imaging The Future

Landscapes & atmospheres

Today, bringing back to life lost cities, imagining the most futuristic environments or recreating endless battlefields has become as easy as stealing a candy from a child. But how are these imaginary universes created? Three matte painting specialists – a trompe-l’oeil set creation process going back to the origins of cinema – and a visual effects supervisor will discuss the latest news and the history of the techniques and the aesthetics at work in their creation process.
