Tezka Macoto, qui signait ici son premier film, y raconte l'ascension et le déclin de deux musiciens. Imbibé d'influences graphiques (le réalisateur n'est autre que le fils de l'illustre mangaka Tezuka Osamu), le résultat est un tourbillon d'inventivité baroque, quelque part entre Faust et Phantom of the Paradise. Immanquable.
