After winning the Grand Prize from Critics’ Week at the latest Cannes Film Festival, Tiger Stripes brings its impudence and rage to Neuchâtel! Malaysian folklore, body horror, and teen movie tropes clash in this powerful tale of a woman’s emancipation. A supernatural horror gem, somewhere between Carrie and Ginger Snaps!
Amanda Nell Eu studied directing at the London Film School, and perfected her skills with the development programmes offered by Locarno Filmmakers Academy and Berlinale Talents. In 2017, she finishes her first short film, Lagi Senang Jaga Sekandang Lembu, shown as part of the competition in Venice, and then in many festivals, where it wins many prizes.
