The movie
Overnight, Vincent inexplicably becomes the target of unprovoked aggressions. When things keep getting worse, he decides to leave Paris. An absurdist take on the apocalyptic film. En savoir plus
Vincent is an average and boring forty-something who is struggling to get back on his feet after a breakup. One day, this seemingly ordinary man falls prey to a terrifying and unexplained phenomenon: anyone who catches his eye suddenly feels an irrepressible urge to kill him. To survive, Vincent tries to interact as little as possible with people, to no avail. Soon, it’s like the whole world is after him. He crosses paths with Margot, whom he brings along for the ride in spite of himself…
After making a big splash at the Critics’ Week in Cannes, Vincent doit mourir is finally reaching the shores of Neuchâtel! This unique film mixes paranoid thriller, zombie movie, dark comedy, and romance to vehemently condemn today’s social violence. The amazing Karim Leklou and Vimala Pons are at the top of their game. An intense and exhilarating cinematic experience.
Stage actor and playwright Stéphan Castang notably wrote Secret Letters from 0 to 10, which won the Molière Award for Best Show for Young People in 2005. He directed his first short film in 2011: Jeunesses françaises, a part-fiction, part-documentary work which ended up being selected at the Berlinale and nominated at the Césars. In 2015, he made the surprising Fin de campagne, about the tense every day operations of a police station during the final week of a presidential campaign. Vincent doit mourir is his first feature film.
