In the near future, a global catastrophe has killed most of mankind. A small fraction found refuge on a remote exoplanet. Two generations later, the space colonizers are struggling to keep their species alive and send scouts back to find out whether Earth is inhabitable again. After Hell (2011), Swiss filmmaker Tim Fehlbaum leverages once more the power of climate disasters to propel and ambitious and impressive sci-fi film. Visually breathtaking, Tides blends location shooting with astounding visual effects to better convey a number of pressing questions.
