Preview and opening: July 1st at 18h30 at the “Jardin anglais” with a performance by Katia Bassanini.

 

Within the framework of the NIFFF, the CAN (Centre d’Art Neuchâtel) will continue its exploration of areas of porosity and influence, which associate contemporary art with fantastic cinema. A projection room located in the Jardin anglais will allow on the one hand, to present artistic videos in the form of an installation during the day and on the other hand, to propose thematic shows in the evening.

 

This pavilion, named Fantastic Form, stems from a collaboration between the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) and the architects office LOCALARCHITECTURE. Urged on by the CAN and the NIFFF, the architects went into partnership with the lapa – laboratory of architectureal production, a multidisciplinary collaboration between the EPFL and the EPFL+ECAL Lab, conducted by Russell Loveridge.

 

This avant-gardist structure received the support of the following companies : ALCAN (www.alcan.com), Logitech Europe SA (http://www.logitech.com) and SCHILLIGGER HOLZ (www.schilliger.ch), which made available both the building materials and the technology.
