In parallel with the exhibition of video art “Gifts of the Present” presented at CAN, the artist Aleksandra Domanovic – born in Serbia among the Slovakian minority, she grew up in Slovenia and now lives in Berlin – will present her work in the small room of the Théâtre du Passage on Saturday, July 2nd at 6 pm.

 

Interested in the reconstruction of identity currently at work in the Balkans, she reconsiders the new way of sculpting in the public space – Turbo Sculpture which reinterprets Hollywood figures such as Rocky, Tarzan, etc. She also deals with the evolution of the opening credits in televised news programs from the communist era to the present day as well as the role of techno.
