The Glamourous Life of Sachiko Hanai
Meike Mitsuru
Japan, 2004, 90', Swiss Premiere
The movie
Sachiko Hanai, a Japanese call girl specialized in role plays, finds herself involved in a shootout. Despite a bullet that lodges itself in her brain, the young woman pulls through and incidentally recovers a metallic tube containing a replica of George W. Bush’s index finger. Struck by her impressive wound (that procures her intellectual capacities way above normal), Sachiko begins a journey into the mystery of knowledge, constructing extravagant theories and having bizarre encounters. Simultaneously, she is followed by a gang of bad guys ready to do anything to recover the cylinder! Master in the genre, Meike Mitsuru delivers a resolutely wild ride, combining eroticism, intrigue and comedy with a touch of political cynicism.
