The movie

Korea, XVII century. A young woman, Namsoon and her mentor, Ahn, are given the responsibility to investigate a case of counterfeit money and to identify the conspirators of a plot aimed at over throwing the powers that be. Who crosses their path but Sad Eyes, an enigmatic and very talented swordsman who does not leave the young police woman cold. From then on, the unlikely couple confronts each other in a multitude of duels coupled in virtuosity and sensuality. Adapted from the Korean manga Damo Namsoon by Bang Hak-gi, Duelist is the 8th film of the director of Nowhere to Hide. Conjugating with happy suspense and romanticism, Lee Myung-se directs with style an action movie with combat sequences that are magnificently choreographed and photographed. Delightfully epic.
