The movie
A broke young artist, Hee-do, makes a bet with No-shik, an old multimillionaire whose health is declining. The challenge is to randomly dial a phone number and bet on the sex of the person who answers the call. If Hee-do wins, his money problems are solved, but if he loses, he will have to enter No-shik’s service. Hee-do loses and understands that he may have to give up much more than his freedom. Indeed, No-shik has other ambitions than to simply use the young man as his personal slave: after lengthy surgery, Hee-do’s brain is exchanged with the old man’s. With Hee-do’s body, No-shik rediscovers beauty, youth and health. Returning to business with his new looks, he befriends Hee-do’s fiancée. Imprisoned in No-shik’s decaying body, Hee-do tries to recover his body and personality. With a concept close to Face / Off by John Woo, The Devil’s Game stars Shin Ho-gyun (JSA (2000), Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), Save the Green Planet (2003), No Mercy for the Rude (2006)) in the role of Hee-do and Byeon Hee-bong (Memories of Murder (2003), Crying Fist (2005), The Host (2006)) as No-shik.
