The movie

In a mythological past, the all-powerful flute of prophecy falls into the hands of evil goblins. Three taoist monks seek out the great mages, Hwadam and the Master, to bring it back. The duo succeeds, but Hwadam, coveting the object for himself, kills the Master and accuses the victim’s disciple, Woochi, of the heinous crime. As punishment, Woochi is sealed in a painting for eternity - but manages to steal the flute back along the way, to Hwadam’s great chagrin. Fast-forward to 2009: the goblins reappear in Seoul. Our three monks - still active! - decide to liberate Woochi so he can help them. But the transition to life in the modern world will not be a peaceful one for our irresponsible, bold rascal, especially when Hwadam, desirous of revenge, makes his own comeback... Woochi is an original and exciting UFO of a movie, brilliantly combining martial arts, moronic humor, great special effects and well-paced action. A fantastic adventure film which will inspire laughs and exaltation in all, even those who haven’t grown up eating kimchi.
