Underwater Love

Japan, Germany, 2011, 87', Swiss Premiere
The movie
Asuka is really surprised when she finds her childhood friend, Aoki, who died years ago and who never confessed his love for her. Reincarnated in kappa, a creature of folklore with a turtle’s beak, keen on cucumbers, he feels he must save his darling from a death god that looks like an extravagant hippie. In order to do so, he will have to get his hands on the shirikodama, which is no more no less than a mythical ball that has to be inserted in the... anus! Released as the very first pink musical, Underwater Love will delight amateurs of comic eroticism. The situations are silly, the electro-pop soundtrack (composed by the French German duo Stereo Total) is definitely kitsch, and the sex scenes are hilariously spontaneous.
