The movie
A serial killer is at work. His favorite targets: young school girls that he rapes and then dismembers. The population is enraged with the olice’s incapacity to catch this maniac. That’s when a suspect is found. But before evidence proving his guilt can be gathered, a cop, close to one of the victims, shoots him. The captain Cheol-gi is then in charge of the case to find another scapegoat who could be accused of being the killer... Written by Park Hoon-jung, the screenplay writer of I saw the Devil, and directed by the brilliant Ryoo Seung-wan, The Unjust depicts a dirty world filled with violence and corruption where the environment itself contributes in creating an inhumane and immoral atmosphere. A trying movie!
