Newly married, Paul (Harry Treadaway) and Bea (Rose Leslie, Ygritte in Game of Thrones) depart for a romantichoneymoon on the edge of a lake, deep in a forest. Shortly after their arrival, Paul finds Bea wandering outside, naked and disoriented. While she is distant and her behaviour becomes increasingly bizarre, Paul begins to suspect that something more sinister took place during her sleepwalking episode… Somewhere between Rosemary's Baby and Alien, Leigh Janiak’s film avoids the shortcuts often used in genre films by developing a relationship and characters as credible as they are terrifying. Cleverly deconstructing the issue of bipolarity, Honeymoon addresses relationship issues by plunging into the codes of horror, thus creating a dark atmosphere that travels from introspective romance to paranoid nightmare.
