Ai is a young art student in an allgirls school who has a gift for drawing. Because of that, her jealous classmates mock and abuse her on a constant basis. In spite of her stoic resistance, Ai yields to the brutality of her everyday life and decides to push back, using her secret powers to turn their world into a living nightmare. The great Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell) delivers a powerful and moving film that’s on a par with masterpieces such as Carrie.
