At the dawn of the 21st century, disciplines as diverse as microtechnology, medicine, information technology or genetics seem to promise the human being an augmentation and renewal of its cognitive, motor, or perceptive faculties. Will man soon transcend the biological limits imposed on the old human condition, in the image of superheroes and of mutants from science-fiction?

 

In order to answer this question and to initiate a dialogue between the actors that influence both the imaginary and the realization of scientific progress, the NIFFF is organizing the symposium Imaging the Future, partnering with „la Maison d’Ailleurs“ (MDA), „musée de l’Utopie et des voyages extraordinaires“ as well as „le Musée d’Ethnographie de Neuchâtel“ (MEN) and with the support of the „Promotion Economique du Canton de Neuchâtel“ and "La Fondation Science et Cité". This will take place at the MEN (Musée d’ethnographie de Neuchâtel – Saint-Nicolas 4).

 

July 5th: from 14h00 to 18h00. The day will end with an official cocktail.

July 6th: from 10h30 to 17h30. The day will end by a meeting of the NIFFF guests.
