Eight Legged Freaks

Elkayem Ellory

United States, 2002, 90'

The "laid-back" movie of the summer lands on our mountains' screens. Along the lines of "Gremlins", "Eight-Legged Freaks" tells of the invasion of a small American town by an army of creepy-crawly-jumpy giant spiders. Striking back is David Arquette ("Scream") and the charming local police chief. For his first film with a "Major", the young New Zealander director Ellory Elkayem pays tribute to 1950's giant insects movies. Produced by Roland "ID4" Emmerich, it is bound to hit hard, on your nerves too. With "Arachnid" and other prestigious rivals, insects make a forceful comeback in 2002, the Year of the Spider!
