Spain, 2012, 88', Swiss Premiere

The movie

Modesto was never a very popular boy, the type of kid that stays alone in the corner at school dances. It must however be said that he has a slightly handicapping particularity: he sees ghosts. Having become a teacher, Modesto is fired from college after college, as he doesn’t know how to manage his gift. One day his luck changes when he finds a new job in Monforte. Although can one really speak of luck when the school in question proves to be occupied by the ghosts of students who died in a fire in 1986? Ghost Graduation is the fantastic comedy of the year, overflowing with references to the genre. Somewhere between Ghost Busters and The Breakfast Club, the second film by Javier Ruiz Caldera (Spanish Movie) is brimming with wink-wink nudge-nudge moments without ever mocking his predecessors. The already cult quotes and characters will resonate with a whole generation of moviegoers nostalgic for the films of yesteryear. While showing off his hispanic roots, Caldera delivers an explosive comedy that screams the eighties. Simply unmissable !
