remington and the curse of the zombadings
Castro Jade
Philippines, 2011, 96', European Premiere
The movie
Remington is a typical young macho, working by day and partying by night. As a child, he made fun of homosexuals and one of his furious victims cursed him to become one himself later in life. Empty words ? Apparently not ! Remington begins to show homosexual tendencies and finds himself torn between his pretty neighbour and his best friend. In the meantime, his police officer mother is looking for a serial killer targeting the gay population... Despite a disconcerting script, Zombadings turns out to be an intelligently constructed film, cleverly combining outrageous stereotypes and caustic criticism. Castro has created a subversive work, promoting freedom of choice while firmly attacking intolerance. With zombies to boot, this is a film not to be missed !
