Hello Ghost

Young-tak Kim

Republic of Korea (South Korea), 2010, 111', Swiss Premiere

The movie

What do a hardened smoker, a bawdy grandfather, a sobbing woman, and a boy addicted to sweets all have in common? They’re all ghosts, and they all have their sights set on the poor sangman! This depressed and suicidal young man sees his life take a tragicomic turn when these suffering souls take over his body to realize their last wishes - not an easy task, given their unusual desires... Hello Ghost, Kim Young-tak’s first film, was a hit at the Korean box office. It’s not surprising that the director Chris Columbus quickly bought the rights to do a remake. Relish the original, where the ghosts, instead of frightening you, will make you laugh!
