The movie

2012: five hours before the destruction of the Earth by a comet. The Japanese population took refuge in order to avoid annihilation, but a man wanders alone in the streets. In a record store still opened, he discovers a couple of unconscious mates, discussing the punk group Gekirin and their legendary song Fish Story. Neglecting the danger, the shopkeeper is affirmative: this song can save the world. But how? Series of flashbacks begin, recalling the creation and the conse quences of that incredible title. With his 10th film, Nakamura succeeded in capturing his audience’s attention sim ply by raising their curiosity. Alternating between four periods, each characterized by seemingly unrelated stories, Fish Story offers a fantastic scenario cleverly light ened by a purged camera. In the manner of M. Night Shyamalan, the author subtly plays with the mind of his audience by keeping them in the dark until the final revelation. Be certain that this film and its raving rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack will remain branded in your memory.
