The movie

McKayla and Sadie are best friends, which is no wonder, since both are obsessed with social networks and dream of becoming Internet celebrities. Their plan is a bit unusual though: to create the buzz, they kidnap a serial killer and force him to teach them how to murder people so that they can become famous in their own right. Why look for information when you can create it? By dissecting the Internet culture, Tragedy Girls is somewhere between satire and mad horror. The two young actresses (Alexandra Shipp and Brianna Hildebrand, both seen in Marvel movies – X-Men: Apocalypse for the former and Deadpool for the latter) play delightful characters that subvert the codes of the slasher genre. Tyler MacIntyre’s film is a pop and colourful psychotic experience, and immensely pleasurable meta-comedy
