As one of the most influential fantasy and science fiction writer of his time, Michael Moorcock was listed, in 2008, by the English newspaper The Times among the 50 best British writers since 1945, and has therefore received many awards and gathered a devoted fanbase.

 

A flagship writer of the British SF “New Wave” in the 1960s and 1970s, Michael Moorcock has created a massive body of works, that has invaded literature, cinema, comics and music (the author is part of a folk band founded in 1975, The Deep Six).

 

His latest novel The Whispering Swarm contains some autobiographical content and proves that the creator of Elric of Melniboné (his most famous character) is far from having run out of ideas.
