Bored with his mundane job and weary of his wife who relentlessly pressures him into getting a promotion, Aram lives a monotonous and unexciting life. The day Aram is told that his overtime will not be paid, he reaches his breaking point and designs a diabolical plan to kidnap a teenage girl. Although the plot is minutely prepared, he is not ready for the reality of it and the situation soon turns into a nightmare. Leveraging the rules of the game of cat and mouse, Adrián García Bogliano creates a dark-humoured farce that explores the distress of a man in front of his stupefyingly dull life. Plus, the director chooses to slowly shift the empathy from one character to the next, hereby switching the focus of the story through its vicious twists and turns, thus offering a fun and disturbing experience. Intelligently reusing well-known classical pieces of music, Bogliano delivers a powerful and beautifully crafted film.
