The movie

In the small town of Bridgend, Wales, teenagers are hanging themselves one by one with no apparent reason. Sara and her father, the police officer in charge of the investigation, have just settled there. As he makes some progress in spite of the continued suicides, Sara starts mingling with a group of teens closely related to the most recent victims… As a film undeniably fascinated with its characters, Bridgend portrays a youth that is both touching and troubling, both in control and in search of bearings. Combining a supernatural approach and a deeply humanistic resonance with the damp setting of the town and its neighbouring forests, the film brings us to the fringes of strangeness. With skilful direction and phenomenal cinematography, Bridgend is a most mesmerizing first feature that plunges viewers into the mists of a sinister and gripping phenomenon.
