The movie
David is a film archivist. While watching a film from 1902, he discovers that the house he lives in with his wife and five-year-old son was the theatre to a series of brutal murders, when a certain William Jackson drowned his whole family. While David suspects his wife of cheating on him, he begins to have nightmarish visions. Jackson’s presence haunts him and seems to want his family to be with him forever… With an uncanny strangeness borrowed from Lynch and Argento, a paranoid atmosphere reminiscent of Polanski and a soundtrack that brings to mind The Shining : the protagonists cinephelia shines in this brilliant psychological horror film served by outstanding actors. Shot in Dublin, this Irish ghost story will lead you down a spiral of your most visceral fears. The kind of surreal old-school thriller we'd like to see more often !
