The movie

Utilizing electric violin, cello and bass, two theremins, three vibraphones and two glockenspiels; this was Bernard Herrmanns' first score after moving to Hollywood and he pulled out all the stops to create the most other- worldly soundtrack ever heard. It is a pioneering film score by one of the world's greatest film composers.
