The movie
One evening, in a small secluded town house in the Irish countryside, a family is slaughtered. Niamh, an eleven year old girl is the sole survivor. While the police suspect a gang was behind the murders, the young girl tries to explain that the house suddenly came to life and is responsible for the bloody carnage. After being taken in by friends of her parents, supernatural events start occurring around our young heroine. Although Carrie‘s shadow can be seen over the film, Dark Touch has a personality of its own, thanks to its director Marina de Van (jury member at the NIFFF 2011). Addressing the sensitive issue of the sexual abuse of children and the healing process after having been dealt such physical and psychological blows, this shocking film will haunt you long after the cinema lights are turned back on...
