Pol has an imaginary friend, his teddy bear Deerhoof, who is both his ally and his confidant. This friendship allows him to find a kind of balance in the complicated time that is adolescence. Everything changes suddenly when a mysterious new student arrives and messes up their lives. Somewhere between initiatory story and love story, Animals boasts a sublime aesthetic. This fantastic tale by Marçal Forés is in line with the best of contemporary cinema, poetically exploring a teenagers coming of age in a cruel world.
