Michael is shocked to find a strange video in his e-mail inbox – a video of his best friend Chris, in a forest and spaced out on methadone. Worried, he vows to help his buddy sober up. He draws up a plan to keep Chris in isolation, to persuade him to undergo rehab before his addiction becomes a death sentence. But the rescue attempt soon turns sour. Their past resurfaces and the two friends find themselves facing their own demons (real ones – not illusions, the methadone having been ruled out !). Uncontrollable forces sweep into the little house where they have taken refuge – which, unfortunately for them, is a long way from civilisation... A film that defies genre classification, Resolution is an extraordinary project that combines dark humour, suspense and horror with crazy and entertaining results. It epitomises the new wave of American independent spirit which has produced the likes of these two filmmakers. Between them, this duo has taken on the roles of director, actor, editor, head cameraman and visual effects designer to create a delightfully unrefined and original piece of cinema. PRIX RTS
