The movie

Thomas and Joanne are a young couple in love and their first baby is due any time soon. Just as they are about to move out of their shabby flat, Joanne is violently attacked by a gang of young hoodies, who leave her half-dead with a syringe in her stomach. Tommy helplessly watches the scene unfold. Doctors manage to save the child, but Joanne slips into a permanent coma. Traumatised by the incident, which leaves him suffering from agoraphobia, Tommy struggles to carry on living with his new-born daughter. But the youths who attacked his wife are always lurking around the corner and they seem very different from normal human beings. Yet one thing is clear : their intentions are evil. Brilliantly shot, this psychological thriller achieves the remarkable feat of drawing the audience into the terrifying agony the protagonist feels in the face of his enemies. Brutal realism and posttraumatic shock are guaranteed – after all, the director drew his inspiration for this film from his own experience as the victim of an assault and his personal struggle against the fear that followed. Spine-chilling...
