Todos tus muertos

The movie

The everyday morning routine of Salvador, a peaceful farmer, is brutally interrupted by a dark discovery: in the middle of his field is a mass of corpses, carefully piled one on top of the other. Concerned, he intends to notify the local police to get rid of these intruders. But it’s not the right time; it’s the local election day... Once the mayor and the police lieutenant hear the news, they’ll stop at nothing to keep Salvador and his family from revealing the incident to the rest of the community. Todos tus muertos can be interpreted as a troubling allegory that subtly accuses the Colombian civil war. Deeply marked by a biting surrealism, the film highlights these issues through intense and provocative images and sounds. Carlos Moreno demonstrates a rare capacity to transcend generic codes with haunting visual imagery, especially through the pile of corpses. Despite their immobility, stiffs have never before seemed so alive!
