The movie

A multinational company opens its doors: five candidates compete for the best job! Saïd arrives at his interview with butterflies in his stomach. To be fair, he earns a miserable salary at his current job, his wife is pregnant, and he’s sick of living in the same lower class neighborhood that he grew up in. Yet once there, he finds himself face to face with his rivals. Even more surprising, the candidates are piled into a minibus, headed for the location of a test that will separate them. That’s when the bus has an accident. Shaken up but without any injuries, the candidates make the fearful discovery that they are stranded in the middle of a desert. Filmed in the region of Ouarzazate, Mirages is a small budget film, endowed with a solid direction of the actors. Blowing in this superb desert décor are whiffs of the fantastic that the characters populate with their past. Madness lurks around each corner in this thriller under an open sky, where lived experiences, arriving in these lands, reveal each character’s (in)humanity. The sand might turn red...
