At the end of the Ming dynasty rule, intrigues multiply in the imperial court, allowing the sinister eunuch, Jia, to take power and secure the services of the formidable Jinyiwei. Trained in combat from their earliest childhood years, the Jinyiwei make up a secret army that is traditionally devoted to the emperor. One of the members will nonetheless rise up against the new regime and attempt to reestablish order at the risk of his life… A self-confident, rock and roll style saber film, 14 Blades will delight fans of muscled fight scenes and off-thewall humor. Donnie Yen in the lead role is certainly noteworthy – undeniably a star of the Hong Kong action film genre.
