In Crank 1, the professional killer Chev Chelios was trying to survive poisoning by generating his own adrenalin in order to keep his heart pumping. He was therefore forced to get excited by all means, including illegal ones. Although the main character was left as dead at the end of the first part, he is – in Crank 2 – maintained alive by a kind of powerful pacemaker that needs 100’000 volts to function: Chev Chelios is back! In this radical action movie, acceleration and unlikelihood are not just ornamental. They represent the core of the storyline itself. Crank 2 is totally subversive and leaves no room for inhibition: a masterpiece of cockeyed entertainment.
