The movie

Ninth century Ireland, the Abbey of Kells: while his master is building walls to protect them from Viking invasions, Brendan is dreaming of new adventures. In order to assist an illumator - an artist who decorates religious book - to finish a precious manuscript, Bredan leaves the Abbey and enters into a mysterious forest. His mission is to collect a berry that produces a special colour, but much more is to be encountered in these marvelous woods… Relating the genesis of a famous religious document, Brendan and the Secret of Kells reveals a great mastering of the latest animated film technologies. Inspired by colourful and skillful medieval drawings, as well as by Celtic mythology; Brendan’s quest is as a matter of fact a touching and fabulous epic.
