Los Angeles, 2019. A detective (Harrison Ford) has to eliminate four rebellious replicants. In all respects, the robots look like humans – all the hero has to go on in order to recognize them for what they are is the fact that they have neither feelings nor memory. Assisted by a particularly sophisticated replicant, the hunter’s convictions are blown to bits. With this adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s novel, Ridley Scott invented a style – a mix between dark movies and science-fiction – that will leave its mark forever on the history of cinema.
