The movie
Los Angeles, 2019. A detective (Harrison Ford) has to eliminate four rebellious replicants. In all respects, the robots look like humans – all the hero has to go on in order to recognize them for what they are is the fact that they have neither feelings nor memory. Assisted by a particularly sophisticated replicant, the hunter’s convictions are blown to bits. With this adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s novel, Ridley Scott invented a style – a mix between dark movies and science-fiction – that will leave its mark forever on the history of cinema. Of an unequalled visual power, Blade Runner is an effective action movie, but also an intriguing reflection on consciousness and humanity: who, of robot and man, is the most « human » ?
