The movie
The first part of the movie sets the scene : three morons (one of them interpreted by Andy Serkis, Lord of the Rings’ Gollum) try, but fail, to kidnap an irascible blond girl. From the outset, we dive into a film replete with references, that uses escalation with consummate art and presents its viewers with a range of totally wild actors. This is one for amateurs of many genres, from gore to slapstick comedy. After having run away from the muchdiscussed cottage, and followed by her three kidnappers, the brainless blond finds herself face to face with a farmer whose sense of humour must be as well developed as that of an otter. Having taken us from thriller, passing through black humour, the film turns slasher... A few cut off feet, impalements and decapitations later, the question is begged : will anyone survive this adventure ? This frightening farce mixes jokes and gore in a deadpan ambiance that is 100% British.
