The movie

On the outside, Lazar Petrov has everything : fine health, a beautiful wife, a cute little boy, a beautiful house, and a good job as a doctor at the hospital. His life changes dramatically one night when he is caught in a terrible road accident that he miraculously survives. After he emerges from a coma, and tries to resume the course of his life, Lazar starts seeing strange characters around him : an old woman speaking an ancient dialect, an old man with a baby who cries constantly, and Menka, a beautiful and mysterious young woman who seems to be hiding a secret. They all have the same enigmatic message for him : « Return that which does not belong to you. Show us some respect. » With Shadows, Milcho Manchevski takes viewers on a fascinating voyage to the borderlands of death and driven dreams. The atmosphere is at once disturbing, sensual and hypnotic, and will undoubtedly win over its audience.
