The movie
During the summer of 1 974, in a delightfully dated camper-van-and-casetteplayer atmosphere, four youngsters are travelling through the Norwegian countryside for a week-end in the woods. However, the mood aboard is not of the best. Roger, who has been denigrating his girlfriend Camilla, and sending barbed comments in the direction of listless Jorgen, finally comes in for a taste of Mia’s anger. A terrified hitch-hiker they have picked up at the corner of a gloomy roadhouse tries to make them understand that the area around the forest is not the best place to stop for an argument. But in vain…When they wake up sometime later to the sound of a hunting horn, they are tied up in a clearing among the trees. The rule of the game is obvious: run and run fast. In this manhunt without motive nor mercy, the funky atmosphere soon turns seriously bloody. With a setting and tension levels reminiscent of The Blair Witch Project, Manhunt is both an intense slasher movie, but also a survival narrative that uses familiar codes : it alternates between panting escapes and bloody death blows orchestrated by Mac Gyvers endowed with boundless depravity. Need a hardcore sensation fix ? This is for you!
