The movie
Everything starts with Promise, a woman dressed as a warrior, getting in Donny’s taxi - thirty-something, single, cynical and vaguely embittered. Followed by the people from whom she took a mysterious little box, Promise forces Donny to get out of his lethargy. He guards the infamous little box, enclosing a secret that concerns him and embarks on a bustling quest to find Promise. Between dreams and memories, Donny must replay certain repressed scenes from adolescence in order to change the course of events and respond to the questions that he asks himself. Beginning as an action film, Storm is a brilliant and passionate psychological thriller. A veritable initiatory ride, the script guides its characters, and with them the audience, on an adventure with plenty of energy. Creating a visual masterpiece, Mans Marlind and his partner in crime Björn Stein, confirm the excellent heath of Nordic cinema.
