The movie

Lix is a young, charming, hardly 20-year-old girl. She was used as a guinea pig when she was born for a medical experiment that was meant to generate a human being whose blood could cure all diseases known to man. Far from producing the expected potion, Lix's blood actually secreted an extremely powerful drug. Kdnapped by dope addicts at the age of 5, she serves as a supergenerator of hallucinogenictoxins for her "foster parents" who keep her locked up in a basement. When Carl Dyson, mastermind of the project, finds out about it, he goes looking after her and manages to set her free. He is far from suspecting, however, the power of his protegee's special talents. Blood, as an amazing variaton on the theme of the vampire, matches with films like The Addiction by Ferrara, Innocent Blood by John Landis or even Dead Ringers, Cronenberg's masterpiece, in its approach of drugs and medical experimentation on the screen. In that regard, Lix's sensorial hypersensitivity is an obvious reference to her vampire peers.
