Cruising far from the Spanish coast, Paul Marsh, a young businessman accompanied by his wife and two firends, is celebrating the latest success of his multimedia company. After a terrible strom, they are driven ashore in the abandoned harbor of Imboca. Despite the strange look and the suspicious behavious of its inhabitants, Paul asks them for help. It is only after his wife has been kidnapped and his firends have vanished that he notices, while looking for them, that there is sanctuary in the village that belongs to an evil sect worshipping Dagon, the god of the ocean deeps. "Dagon" was adapted from a short story by Lovecraft belonging to the cycle of Cthulhu. In this thrilling movie, Stuart Gordon succeeded once again in combining an old-faschioned adventure story with Lovecraftian fantasy, cruel monsters from the Old Testament, and a dash of eroticism.
