A group of researchers are leaving for an island in the South Pacific, where they are supposed to study a lethal virus. The expedition tunrs into a nightmare scenario when they discover what lies behind the detestable microbes; gigantic mutant spiders from space threaten the survival of humankind on earth. "Arachnid" is an obvious tribute to science fiction movies of the 1950s and marks the coming back of Jack Sholders, the director of "Freddy 2" and "The Hidden".
